技工(電氣)主要負責安裝、操作、修理、保養和大修發電裝置和設備，包括配電、污水處理設施、發電機、電動機、電子設備和儀器；以及訓練和監督學徒及初級人員。
聘用條款
獲取錄的申請人通常會按公務員試用條款受聘三年。通過試用關限後，或可獲考慮按當時適用的長期聘用條款聘用。

新版本的政府職位申請書G.F.340(7/2023修訂版)已在2023年7月26日正式生效。申請人如投考在2023年7月26日或之後展開招聘的政府職位，必須以新版本的申請書G.F.340(7/2023修訂版)遞交申請。如申請人遞交了舊版本的申請書(G.F.340(3/2013修訂版))，招聘部門／職系會要求申請人重新填寫新版本的申請書G.F.340(7/2023修訂版)，並在七日內提交已填妥的G.F.340(7/2023修訂版)。如申請人在指定限期內未能重新遞交已填妥的新版本申請書G.F.340(7/2023修訂版)，其申請將不獲處理。
申請書填妥後，須於2026年10月8日或之前郵寄或送交香港九龍啟成街3號機電工程署7樓招聘及升任組。申請日期以信封上郵戳所示日期為準。請在信封面上註明「申請技工(電氣)職位」。為避免郵件過期或未能成功派遞，在投寄前請確保信封面已清楚寫上正確地址及已貼上足夠郵資。所有郵資不足的郵件將不會派遞至本署，並會由香港郵政按情況退還寄件人或銷毀。申請人須自行承擔因未有支付足夠郵資而引致的任何後果。申請人亦可透過公務員事務局互聯網站（http://www.csb.gov.hk）作網上申請。
Duties
An Artisan (Electrical) is mainly deployed on installing, operating, repairing, maintaining and overhauling electrical plants and equipment including electrical distribution, sewage treatment facilities, electricity generators, electric motors, electronic equipment and apparatus; and training and supervising apprentices and minor staff.
Terms of appointment
A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.

Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk).
The new version of application form for Government jobs G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) has been in use with effect from 26 July 2023. Candidates who apply for Government jobs advertised on or after 26 July 2023 should use the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023). If candidates submit the old version form (G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)), they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If candidates fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further.
Applications on G.F. 340 should reach Recruitment and Promotion Section, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, 7/F, 3 Kai Shing Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong not later than 8 October 2026. The postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of submission. Please specify "Application for the post of Artisan (Electrical)" on the envelope. To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to this Department and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate. Applicants will bear any consequences arising from paying insufficient postage. On-line application can also be made through Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk).
Your application will not be considered if late, submitted by fax or email, or if you fail to provide in G.F. 340 all information as requested or it is not clear from your statements that you have the minimum qualifications, training, experience or other requirements for the job. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation anytime during the ten-week period from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.

- (i) Candidate will be required to pass a trade test (except those candidates who have completed a full apprenticeship in electrical engineering).
