成功的申請人將按非公務員合約條款聘任。續約與否視乎屆時本部門的服務需要及受聘人的工作表現而定。

福利

職責
植物分類學家的主要職責包括 –
(a) 為政府中藥檢測中心的藥用植物及藥材進行品種鑒定；
(b) 擬訂收集和保存植物標本的標準操作程序及；
(c) 就植物標本的存放排列提供意見並擬訂計劃；
(d) 協助執行各種藥用植物與中藥材標本、顯微切片的製作、編目及數據收集；
(e) 協助管理中藥標本的保存；
(f) 協助管理藥用植物園；
(g) 與外部標本館聯系及合作；
(h) 為前線或內部人員提供植物分類與性狀鑒定技術培訓；及
(i) 執行高級人員指派的其他職責。

申請人必須透過公務員事務局的G.F. 340網上申請系統 (https://www.csb.gov.hk) 作網上申請。申請書如資料不全或以親身、郵寄、傳真或電郵方式遞交，概不受理。所有申請人須在提交網上申請後的一星期內將有關文件以證明其(a)學歷；及(b)工作經驗電郵至[email protected]，並在電郵及各證明文件副本上註明申請的職位名稱及網上申請編號。

Duties
Plant Taxonomist is mainly responsible for –
(a) To conduct identification of medicinal plants and Chinese medicines (CM) for the Government Chinese Medicines Testing Institute;
(b) To draw up standard operating procedures for the collection and preservation of plant specimens;
(c) To provide advice on and formulate plans for the arrangement and storage of plant specimens;
(d) To assist in the preparation, cataloguing and data collection of various medicinal plant and CM specimens, as well as microscopic sections;
(e) To assist in the management and preservation of CM specimens;
(f) To assist in the management of the Medicinal Plant Garden;
(g) To liaise and collaborate with external herbaria;
(h) To provide training on plant taxonomy and morphological identification techniques for frontline or internal staff; and
(i) To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.

[Remark: May be required to work shift and irregular hours.]

Terms of appointment
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the Department and the performance of the candidate.

Benefits
Candidates appointed are eligible for 14 days’ paid annual leave per year. Other benefits such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave/ paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the Employment Ordinance (Cap. 57).

The application period for the position of Plant Taxonomist is from 2 October 2026 (Friday) to 15 October 2026 (Thursday).

Applications which are incomplete or submitted in person, by post, by fax or by e-mail will not be accepted. All applicants should provide relevant documents in support of their (a) qualification; and (b) working experiences to the designated e-mail address ([email protected]) within one week after the submission of on-line application. The title of the post being applied for and the on-line application number should be quoted in the e-mail and copies of the supporting documents.

If candidates fail to provide the supporting documents as required, their applications will not be considered. Applicants should provide their e-mail addresses on the application forms. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation by e-mail in about six to eight weeks after the application is received. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
