Duties
A Customs Officer is mainly deployed on law enforcement activities relating to revenue protection and collection, anti-narcotics, anti-smuggling and intellectual property rights protection. A Customs Officer is subject to the provisions of the Customs and Excise Service Ordinance, required to wear uniform, carry firearms, work irregular hours and may be required to work in an area outside the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
職責
關員主要負責執行有關保障稅收及徵收稅款、緝毒、反走私和保護知識產權的執法工作。關員須受《香港海關條例》所規定的條文約束、須穿着制服、佩帶槍械、不定時工作，並或須在香港特別行政區以外的地區工作。
Terms of appointment
New recruits will be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. He/She may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms upon satisfactory completion of the probationary period.
聘用條款
獲取錄的申請人會按公務員試用條款受聘，試用期為三年。成功通過試用期者將獲當局考慮按當時適用的長期聘用條款受聘。

Applicants must apply online through the G.F. 340 Online Application System of the Civil Service Bureau (https://www.csb.gov.hk).
Applications which are incomplete or submitted in person, by post, by fax or by e-mail will not be accepted.
Applicants are not required to submit any documents related to academic qualification for the time being. Yet, applicants are required to produce documents for scrutiny if being invited to attend Selection Interview.
As invitations and notifications will be issued via e-mail, applicants should provide an accurate e-mail address. To avoid missing any invitation or notification, candidates are responsible for (a) ensuring that the settings of their email accounts do not block emails from the email domain @customs.gov.hk; and (b) checking each incoming mailbox (including the spam folder) regularly to ensure that invitations and notifications will be duly received.

职位要求
- Candidates should -
- (a)(i) have Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent [see Notes (1) & (2)]; or
- (a)(ii) have Level 2 / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Notes (2) & (3)];
- (b) have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent [see Note (3)];
- (c) have a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test [see Notes (5) & (6)];
- (d) be able to speak fluent Cantonese;
- (e) pass a physical fitness test; and
- (f) pass an eyesight test.
- 申請人必須符合以下條件：
- (a)(i) 在香港中學文憑考試五科考獲第2級或同等或以上成績，或具同等學歷[請參閱註(1)及(2)]；或
- (a)(ii) 在香港中學會考五科考獲第2級／E級或以上成績，或具同等學歷 [請參閱註(2)及(3)]；
- (b) 符合語文能力要求，即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科考獲第2級或以上成績，或具同等成績 [請參閱註(3)]；
- (c) 在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績 [請參閱註(5)及(6)]；
- (d) 能操流利粵語；
- (e) 通過體能測驗；及
- (f) 通過視力測驗。
